What you eat controls how you feel. At the moment, many of us are under more stress than usual, trying to handle social distancing, staying healthy, working from home, family and household obligations, etc. If you’ve been feeling stressed recently, here are some foods you can eat to help you fight stress.
Eggs
Eggs, just like nuts and turkey meat, contain tryptophan which helps your body makes serotonin—a key for a good mood. Eggs also contain protein and will keep you full longer, which is why they’re great for breakfast or whenever you need some additional energy.
Dark Chocolate
Thanks to polyphenols, dark chocolate is considered a great food for mood-boosting. However, you won’t achieve the same effect with milk chocolate. Pick dark chocolate with 70% or more cocoa content and don’t eat a lot of it at once if you’re on a weight-loss regime.
Plants
As long as your diet consists mostly of various fruits, vegetables, and legumes, you’ll be in better shape physically and mentally. Make sure to eat different kinds as often as you can as each has unique benefits for your health.
