Pork tenderloin is one of the best cuts of meat to work with. Not only is this hearty and lean cut of pork healthy and easy to prepare, but it also can be seasoned and flavored with basically any style that you like!

Spicing pork tenderloin with Mexican flavors is one of the best options. Do you want to learn how to make it? Here’s your guide!

Ingredients

  • One 1-pound pork tenderloin
  • ¼ cup orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons Cholula hot sauce
  • 1 ½ tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

Start off by placing the pork tenderloin and all of the rest of the ingredients in a plastic bag and mixing them thoroughly until a marinade is formed. You’ll want to place this inside of your refrigerator and marinate for approximately 4-6 hours.

Once the marination process is finished, preheat your oven to 450 degrees F.

While the oven is preheating, remove the marinated pork tenderloin from the bag and place into a large skillet on your stove on medium-high heat. Cook evenly on all sides for 3-4 minutes, or until the exterior of the tenderloin is browned.

Finally, place the tenderloin on an oven sheet and cook in the oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the meat has reached 145 degrees F. Allow to rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Enjoy!

One of our go-to dishes when we’re short on time is chicken wings. Easily made in the oven after being marinated, the versatility of wings also allow you to imbue them with whatever flavors you prefer to make a personalized dish.

Mexican wings are one of the best variations to prepare, adding a spicy and citrusy kick to the wings. Here is how to prepare them yourself!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound chicken wings
  • ¼ cup Mexican hot sauce (I use Valentina extra spicy)
  • 2 tablespoons orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 2 teaspoons salt

Instructions

Start off by putting the chicken wings in a large container and adding all of the other liquid ingredients and spices. Put them in your refrigerator and allow to marinate for 6-8 hours.

Once this time is up, preheat your oven to 400  F. Take an oven tray and line it with aluminum foil, and then arrange the wings on the foil and bake in the oven for approximately 45 minutes.

Remove the wings, allow to cool for 10-15 minutes, and then enjoy!

Although you might not be able to put your finger exactly on it, I bet that you know exactly what I’m talking about when I say “Mexican flavor.” The tangy, spicy tones of this country’s cuisine excite taste buds and make dining a fun experience!

If you are looking to add a little bit of Mexican spice, here are some tools that you absolutely must be sure to have in your spice cabinet.

Cumin

Cumin might be native to the Middle East, but Mexican gastronomy has taken a real liking to this unique flavor. The earthy, nutty, and spicy flavor of cumin goes a long way to enhancing the other bold flavors found in Mexican cooking.

Chili Powder

Some like it hot, and the Mexican people and their food definitely fall into this category. Fresh chiles might not always be readily available, but a sprinkle of chili powder is more than enough to add a little bit of heat to any dish.

Garlic Powder

Garlic is also commonly used in Mexican cooking. While it isn’t the most common or present flavor in most dishes, it is often used as a complementary addition to ramp up the flavor levels in taco meat and rice dishes. Make sure to have it on hand!
