Treat yourself to a culinary delight with our irresistible buttermilk chicken recipe. Bursting with flavor and boasting a crispy exterior paired with tender, juicy meat, this dish is sure to become a family favorite. Whether you’re cooking for a weeknight dinner or entertaining guests, this delicious recipe promises to impress with its simplicity and mouthwatering taste.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Begin by marinating the chicken breasts in buttermilk. Place the chicken breasts in a large bowl and pour the buttermilk over them, ensuring they are fully submerged. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight. This step helps tenderize the chicken and infuse it with flavor.
  2. In a shallow dish, combine the all-purpose flour, garlic powder, paprika, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to evenly distribute the spices.
  3. Remove the chicken from the buttermilk marinade, allowing any excess liquid to drip off. Dredge each chicken breast in the seasoned flour mixture, ensuring they are fully coated on all sides. Shake off any excess flour. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
  4. Carefully add the coated chicken breasts to the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 6-8 minutes per side, or until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through, with an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C). Once cooked, transfer the chicken to a wire rack or paper towels to drain any excess oil. Serve the delicious buttermilk chicken hot with your favorite side dishes and enjoy the crispy, golden exterior and juicy, flavorful meat.

Experience the classic flavors of a chicken schnitzel with this easy-to-follow recipe. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, this traditional dish is a favorite in many households. Here’s how you can make your own.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup of breadcrumbs (plain or seasoned)
  • 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil or clarified butter
  • Lemon wedges, for serving
  • Optional garnish: chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken breasts between two sheets of plastic wrap or parchment paper. Use a meat mallet or rolling pin to pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness of about 1/4 inch. Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  2. Set up a breading station with three shallow dishes. Place the all-purpose flour in the first dish, beat the eggs in the second dish, and combine the breadcrumbs with grated Parmesan cheese in the third dish.
  3. Dredge each chicken breast in the flour, shaking off any excess. Dip the floured chicken breasts into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess egg to drip off. Finally, coat the chicken breasts in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere the breadcrumbs.
  4. Heat the vegetable oil or clarified butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the breaded chicken breasts to the skillet, working in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding the pan.
  5. Cook the chicken schnitzel for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. The internal temperature of the chicken should reach 165°F (74°C). Transfer the cooked chicken schnitzel to a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
  6. Serve the chicken schnitzel hot, accompanied by lemon wedges for squeezing over the top. Optionally, garnish with chopped fresh parsley for added flavor and color. Enjoy your homemade chicken schnitzel as a satisfying main dish, served with your favorite sides such as mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, or a crisp salad.
