Taco Bell is Thinking of Adding Nacho Fries to its Permanent Menu

If you’re a fan of Taco Bell’s nacho chips, keep your fingers crossed because they may just be sticking around permanently.

The fast-food chain is known for its burritos, quesadillas, and, of course, nachos, but every now and again adds fries to its menu. Known as nacho fries, the potato sticks are coated in seasoning and served with a cheesy dipping sauce.

Nacho fries were first introduced in 2018 and have always been available for a limited time. Taco Bell CEO, Mark King, even stated, “We offer fries half the time.”

But as the franchise tries to compete with others in the market, like McDonald’s, the Mexican chain is considering making its fries a more permanent thing.

“People that go to lunch want to have French fries. We know that,” said King. “We’re looking at and testing bringing fries permanently on to the menu, which would increase our lunch business dramatically. If you were to look at how we compete against McDonald’s in dinner and late night, we’re absolutely even. When you look at breakfast and lunch, we’re significantly behind. There’s a big opportunity just in those two dayparts to increase our business significantly over the coming years.”

Considering they’re nacho average set of fries, we really hope Taco Bell does the right thing!
