Specific Tips On How (and Where) to Store Certain Vegetables

When it comes to keeping our food fresh, we certainly have our on-days and off-days. However, one certain way to keep our food ready for eating is by knowing where to store them. With vegetables, for instance, it’s not necessarily smart to just toss them all in the same bowl together. If you want a more detailed guide on how to store certain vegetables, read on!

Carrots

Carrots should be stored in a plastic or mesh bag, and then placed in the vegetable drawer in your fridge. If there’s no room in the fridge, find a dark, dry area that has a room-temperature circulation.

Cucumbers

These long green vegetables should also be stored in a dry and dark room-temperature area. Another option is to put them in the refrigerator, but they must be placed on a high shelf where it’s warmer.

Garlic and Onions

Place your garlic and onions in a paper or mesh bag, and then store them in a dry area with room-temperature circulation, although it’s alright if the air’s a bit cooler.

Lettuce

Lettuce should be washed and spun in a salad spinner, and then kept in the fridge while still in the spinner, with the lid on.
