Now that winter is here all we want to do is eat and eat things like brownies and cheese-laden pasta sitting close to a fire. But while we want to enjoy these lovely recipes by the fire this winter, we shouldn’t forget to keep our health in check.

Making sure vitamin B is in our green veggies is essential. Your dietary goals should include making a green smoothie loaded with baby spinach, broccoli and celery regularly to improve your vitamin B consumption.

As the saying goes, ‘conscious eating’ ensures optimal health. Purchasing fruits and veggies at the grocery store means and adding them to your smoothies means that you will enjoy the direct positive effects that these nutrients can have on our health especially during the winter. Fruits that naturally grow during colder months and can be used as smoothie additions include:

  1. Guavas
  2. Dates
  3. Pineapples
  4. Cranberries
  5. Pears

Date Delicious

  1. Nut milk
  2. 3 dates
  3. 1 tsp of raw honey
  4. 175 ml full cream plain yoghurt
  5. Half a frozen banana
  6. 1 tsp of flaked almonds
  7. ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  8. 200 ml of water

Mix all ingredients and blend in your food processor to get the fastest healthy smoothie.

Guava Girl

  1. 1 fresh guava
  2. 1 heaped tbsp rolled oats
  3. 1 slice pineapple
  4. 1 tsp chia seeds
  5. 175 ml almond milk
  6. 1 tsp of honey
  7. 100 ml of water

Mix all ingredients and blend. Enjoy!
