Have you ever been to a restaurant and seen something that just didn’t make sense? Or something that blew your mind in a way that didn’t expect? For a few select restaurants, these experiences happen all the time and that’s what we’re going to discuss right now. Believe it or not, there are restaurants out there with chefs who make it a practice to add gold on their food.

Not Actual Gold

Before your mouth drops in shock, we should clarify that these chefs don’t use actual gold. If this were the case, it would be a major health hazard and the chefs would lose their rights to cook food for the public. Rather, these chefs use a special food coloring has the color of gold, but also glistens in the same way.

Dazzling

Whether or not eating food sparkled with gold is your cup of tea, there’s no doubt that it’s something that’ll blow your mind when you first see it. It’s the kind of thing that’s quite shocking if you’ve never been exposed to it before, and you’ll be sure to snap a few photos of it. You might see it on a fudgy dessert, a steak, or a tasty pie a la mode.

We should add that regardless of how cool it is to look at, you may not be so into actually eating it. The “gold” doesn’t really taste like anything, but it may throw you off a little bit. But if it doesn’t bother you, it’s an experience that you’ll happily share with anyone!
