Smoked Salmon Recipes, Hold the Bagel

Smoked salmon, or lox, is such a delicious treat to have on a bagel. But, after the cream cheese, the salt in the salmon, and the carbs in the bagel, it can be a bit much. Instead, if you want to enjoy your salmon but change up your diet a bit, check out these recipes.

Cucumbers

Instead of having a bagel as the base, try using slices of cucumber instead! Not only do cucumbers go really well with smoked salmon, but it’s a great way to get in more veggies and fewer carbs. Just smear on whatever spread you like onto the cucumber, top it with a little slice of salmon and a caper, and you’re set!

Rolls

Who needs a base when you can just use the lox as the entire thing! For this roll, spread out a piece of smoked salmon and spread on cream cheese, hummus, or whatever filling you like. Roll it up into a log, and use a sharp knife to cut it into little rolls. Put them on a plate, garnish with fresh herbs like dill, and enjoy!
