Organizing your pantry is a challenging but necessary job. An organized pantry can save you loads of time during cooking, prevent unnecessary shopping, and extend the storage life of your food and ingredients. Pantry organization is easier when you have a plan. Knowing where to start and how you want your pantry to look at the end will make the process a lot smoother and quicker. You also won’t be tempted to quit halfway through. If you need some help when it comes to planning, continue reading below to find out some tips and tricks that will take your pantry organization to the next level.

Start from Scratch

The best way to kick off the pantry organization is to start from scratch. Take everything out and then proceed with the organization. This will allow you to freshen up space a bit and get rid of unnecessary or expired items.

Use Containers

To have an organized pantry, you’ll have to use containers. Baskets, plastic containers, bins, and jars will help you keep things organized and accessible.

Group the Items

One of the most important things is to arrange food, ingredients, spices, condiments, and everything else in groups. Vegetables on one side, fruit on the other, spices in the same bin, liquids on one shelf. This will allow you to know where what is at any given moment.

Consider the Position

The position of items in the pantry shouldn’t be neglected. You should put the items that you use most in front and on easily accessible points.

Label it

Using labels will bring you a world of good. Mark the baskets, bins, containers, jars, and bottles with labels if the content isn’t instantly visible. Also, you might consider labeling the items with a purchase or expiry date so you know if something has been sitting in your pantry for too long.
