NYC Restaurant Creates the World’s Most Expensive French Fries

How much would you be willing to pay for French fries? If you’re a casual fries eater, anything more than $5 would probably be too much for you. We guess snack aficionados, on the other hand, wouldn’t mind shelling out up to $20 for really good French fries. But what about $200?

Famous New York City restaurant Serendipity 3 recently presented a new item on their menu called The Crème de la Crème Pommes Frites. The item is their take on French fries, and it will cost you $200 to try it.

The Crème de la Crème Pommes Frites

The basis for these pricey French fries is famous Chipperbec potatoes. The potatoes get sliced and then blanched in vinegar and champagne. After that, they are fried in pure goose fat two times in order to ensure crispy outside and fluffy inside.

The French fries then get seasoned with truffle oil and truffle salt before being covered in edible gold. They are served with a side of truffles and Mornay sauce that is also infused with truffles.

According to the restaurant, The Crème de la Crème Pommes Frites became one of their best-selling items. There is even a waitlist with people reserving these French fries up to 10 weeks in advance.

Serendipity 3 isn’t a stranger to expensive meals. The restaurant previously also made the most expensive burger in the world, which costs $295, and the world’s priciest ice cream sundae that sells for $1,000.
