Nothing Says the Caribbean Like These Beers

Can you think of anything sweeter than sitting on a sunny, warm beach on a Caribbean island while sipping a cold beer and watching the waves go by? While most of us probably aren’t lucky enough to experience the beach on a consistent basis, we can at least seek out Caribbean beers to enjoy no matter where we are!

Here are three of the region’s best to add to your list.

Presidente: Dominican Republic

Presidente, a Pilsner-style beer which has been brewed in the Dominican Republic for nearly 100 years, is the country’s most iconic brew. While its light body makes it a refreshing choice, you certainly won’t find it light on flavor.

Red Stripe: Jamaica

Arguably the most popular Caribbean beer outside of the territory itself is Red Stripe, Jamaica’s favorite brand of suds. This pale lager, with a low alcohol content of under 5%, is great for sipping all day long.

Medalla Light: Puerto Rico

While beers brewed in the mainland United States are certainly popular on the island, Puerto Rico’s most iconic beer is Medalla Light. Brewed in Mayagüez since 1937, this light lager goes great with a plate of the territory’s seafood.
