Don’t Make These Mistakes with Eggs

The egg is a miraculous food. Packed with protein, vitamins, and minerals, eggs are versatile and readily available at an affordable cost. But you might be making a few mistakes when cooking it.

Scrambled eggs

Scrambled eggs can be so delicious, but they’re easy to mess up. Avoid using a cast iron skillet, or the eggs are sure to stick. Instead, use a non-stick pan. Don’t cook the eggs over a high heat, or they will turn to rubber.

The idea is that they should still be creamy. Always scramble the eggs in a bowl before adding to the pan, instead of beating them in the pan itself. Once you have added the beaten eggs to your heated, buttered pan, move them around the pan to avoid a dry, omelet-like result.

Boiled eggs

Don’t add refrigerator-cold eggs to boiling water or they will crack. Rather place the eggs in the pan and pour over the cold water. Once the cooking time is up, don’t leave the eggs in the cooking water or they will become rubbery. Instead, remove the eggs from the hot water and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process.
