Be honest: your favorite appliance that you’ve bought over the last two years is your air fryer.

It seems kind of crazy to think that there was a time before the contraptions that seemed to cook your food magically fast.

The first air fryer was introduced by Philips way back in 2010, but the term became used for generic convection ovens around 2018. During the COVID-19 pandemic, when most of us were stuck in our homes and ended up cooking way more, the air fryer had a glow up.

Nowadays, the countertop appliance can be used to cook almost anything, with pages and pages of the internet dedicated to air fryer recipes.

Yet, if you have a Cosori model, you may want to set down those ingredients…

More than two million air fryers from the Chinese manufacturer have been recalled due to reportedly catching fire, burning, melting, overheating, and smoking from a faulty wire connection.

205 reports—some of which included mild property damage and injury—were received by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission who made the recall order.

“Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled air fryers and contact Cosori to receive their choice of a free replacement air fryer or another Cosori product,” the commission stated.

The air fryers were sold at Target, Best Buy, and Home Depot stores; as well as online at Amazon, Walmart.com, and other e-commerce sites.
