Meet Elizabeth Rowe, Brilliant Baker Who Won “Is It Cake?” Season 2

The second season of Is It Cake? was as exhilarating as the first, and it truly kept us on the edge of our seats. We were introduced to many talented bakers on this show, and Elizabeth Rowe emerged as the worthy winner with a slew of cakes that have to be seen to be believed.

The second season of Netflix’s popular baking series saw a team of bakers craft hyper-realistic cakes inspired by everyday objects, in an attempt to trick celebrity judges into thinking that they’re real. Rowe was named a winner after baking cakes that resembled everything from Dr. Martens and softball gloves to a yoga mat.

Rowe decided to sign up for the show after enjoying its first season and quickly learned that baking cakes in front of a camera brings its own set of challenges.

“It’s one thing to see, but it’s a totally different thing to try and make your hands replicate what your eyes see. You’re also having to do it in a different situation, where you’re not in your usual environment… You’ve got the pressures from the cameras and you’re competing,” she told Tudum.

The most impressive thing about Rowe’s victory is the fact she’s not known for making hyper-realistic cakes. Her brand The London Baker mostly specializes in wedding and celebration cakes, and she’s attracted tens of thousands of Instagram followers long before competing on this show.
