Make Your Own Muesli For Breakfast!

Muesli is a German breakfast type cereal that has was created at the beginning of the 20th century. The base for this breakfast is rolled oats, along with various nuts, dried fruits, and seeds. Although this is usually marketed as being healthier than cereal, the store-bought types can be just as sugary.

Making your own muesli at home means you can really customize it however you like, including making it as healthy as possible. Here’s a recipe for muesli that is both sugar-free and vegan, and you can even make it gluten-free!

Ingredients

  • coconut flakes
  • rolled oats, brazil nuts
  • peanuts
  • almonds
  • pumpkin seeds
  • flavorless oil

Method

  1. Soak your nuts and seeds the night before, or for an hour in boiling water to help them become more digestible.
  2. Roughly chop the nuts and add them to a bowl with the other dry ingredients.
  3. Drizzle in whatever oil you choose and pour it onto a baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 30 minutes at a low temperature and store for up to three weeks in a glass jar!
  5. Enjoy with nut or seed milk, yogurt, or plain.
