While the way you decide to cook a turkey will obviously have an impact on how the bird comes out, you may not realize just how much the right kind of gravy can enhance your meal’s flavor. Here is how you can make the perfect shallot gravy for your next turkey dinner.

Prep Your Skillet

Melt some butter in your skillet over your stove on medium heat. Once warm, add some shallots to the mix and continue stirring for seven to 10 minutes, or until the mixture is tender enough for your liking.

Turn Up the Heat

Turn up the stove’s temperature to hot and add some flour to the skillet. Continue whisking the flour until the mixture is bubbling and light brown in color.

Perfect the Taste

Add broth to the skillet and whisk until the gravy has thickened. Add some sage and thyme and, finally, add drops of soy sauce, pepper, or wine to top it all off.
