A banana split is a great summer dessert. If you enjoy the combination of bananas and ice cream, you can try making this fun version that’s both kid-friendly and doesn’t require a lot of your time. Banana split on a stick is perfect when you want to limit the portion size, and the result is so cute that you wouldn’t want the original version anyway.

Banana split on a stick uses a lot less sugar than the original dessert that typically comes with three scoops of ice cream. By dipping banana slices in dark chocolate and adding real fruit instead of flavored syrups that typically top a banana split, you can be sure you’re getting the needed vitamins while satisfying your sugar craving.

So, instead of strawberry and pineapple syrup, use real strawberry and pineapple slices along with your banana slices. Slice the fruits so they are about the same size and place one piece of each—banana, strawberry, and pineapple—on a skewer. Dip in some dark chocolate and sprinkle with nuts, and then leave it in the fridge to cool before serving.

This is a perfect dessert for a lazy afternoon snack or for unexpected guests, especially if they’re bringing children. Everybody likes it, and if you want to avoid nuts, you can use sprinkles instead.
