Coffee is the first thing that many of us consume in the morning, and it can totally create a good or bad start to the day. Considering what an essential part coffee play in our lives, it’s important that every sip tastes good. So, for those brews that just don’t hit the spot, here are three ways to jazz up that cup.

A Pinch of Salt Goes a Long Way

We know this sounds weird, but trust us, it works. Add a few sprinkles of salt to your coffee grounds before brewing. The salt will help to balance out the bitterness of the coffee and bring out its natural sweetness. The trick also works with cinnamon, cardamom, or nutmeg, all of which will give your coffee a cozy feel.

Make a Mocha

There are very few things that chocolate can’t fix. If your coffee needs a bit of a zhuzh, try adding some chocolate into the mix. You can create a mocha by using hot chocolate powder or even a piece of good quality dark chocolate.

Froth for the Win

Want your coffee to feel as fancy as a cappuccino? Add a little frothed milk on top. If you don’t have a frother, simply warm some milk in a microwave and then pour it into a jar or tupperware and shake vigorously.
