The thought of leftovers to some people is sad and often wasteful. But actually, leftovers are bonus food, a meal you don’t have to cook from scratch, food ready and prepared for you to eat without the slaving over a stove.

To start making the change from negative to positive thoughts about leftovers here are four ways to use up leftover food in your fridge and make it even tastier than it was before.

Make a New Dish

If you start breaking down your leftovers as ingredients and not full meals, you can use the parts for an entirely different meal than it was originally. Leftover pasta can become a pasta bake with your choice of protein and vegetables. Mix your rice with a bunch of vegetables and add some eggs, or add your roasted veggies to a warm salad.

Put Them on Frozen Pizza

Whether you have some vegetables left over or some extra pieces of meat, everything can go on a frozen pizza. So take out your leftovers and start being creative with your pizza flavors.

Eat Them for Lunch

If your dinner was delicious, why not let the good feelings roll into the next day and eat your dinner for lunch? It will save you time and stop you from overthinking about what you need to make that day.

Eat Them Buffet Style

Take a few days of leftovers out of the fridge and turn your weeknight dinner table into a buffet. Add some colorful dishes, some nice tableware, and you won’t even know that food was left over.
