Most people throw away pickle juice once they finish off a jar of pickles, but that’s a huge waste considering that pickle juice can be used for so much more than just pickling. Here are a few great ways to use leftover pickle juice.

Use It For More Pickling

The easiest and most obvious way to reuse pickle juice is for pickling other foods. Once you finish off a jar of pickles, use that brine to make another jar of pickled onions, carrots, radishes, and other veggies that you like.

Vinegar or Lemon Juice

Pickle brine is a mixture of water and vinegar and that’s why you can easily use it instead of vinegar and other acids like citrus juices. Use pickle brine instead of vinegar when making salad dressings, cocktails, and marinades, or replace lemon juice when making hummus and it’ll be just as tasty.

Use to Marinate Meat

Acidic marinades are perfect for preparing delicious meat and seafood. Season the meat with leftover pickle juice and your favorite seasonings, and leave it for a few hours or overnight to make a delicious meal.

Pickleback

The pickleback is a unique whiskey shot that’s very popular and easy to make, so don’t miss out on enjoying these shots if you have leftover pickle juice.
