There’s hardly anything compared to the tantalizing taste of smoky grilled chicken. Enjoying it during summers with a mug of bear offers an unimaginable culinary experience.

Shish Tauk is a grilled take on traditional chicken in which chicken is grilled on live coal fire after being skewered.

The copious amounts of garlic, lemon juice, and fresh herbs are added to add to the delicacy of the preparation. In the end, Sumac powder is integrated which is the trademark ingredient of this Middle-eastern dish.

Method

  • To prepare Shish Tauk, mix olive oil, lemon juice, yogurt, tomatoes puree and herbs with salt and pepper in a deep mixing bowl.
  • Cover the chicken pieces properly in this mixture and then keep it in the fridge for 8 hours.
  • Remove from fridge and grill on skewers for 4-5 minutes. Do this until a smoky flavor is being detected through the red-hot coloration of the chicken.
  • Remove from grill and serve hot with garnishing by wedges of lemon
  • Here, an electric grill can also be used instead of coal grill given that the cook enjoys more steam flavor than the smoky one.
