Preparing meals in advance is the latest flex you can have. It’s a skill to gain for your personal health and well-being. Here are three key elements we recommend if you want to start meal prepping.

Start Small

If you have never meal prepped before, this could be a slightly overwhelming process to start. First, there are no rules. Second, make small changes each week-understand that this is a habit, not a quick fix. Eventually, you will figure out what you like, and which approach is best for you and your schedule.

Chop All Veggies

The best thing you can do when you start meal prep is cut everything. Take one day out of your week, we do it on a Saturday, and spend the day cutting everything you may need for the week ahead. Whether it be vegetables for a salad for lunch or onion and garlic for dinner. Coming home to pre-cute vegetables will cut your cooking time dramatically.

Get Organized

Organization is one of the most critical elements of meal prepping. An organized kitchen and pantry will make a world of difference. Investing in suitable storage containers will help elevate your meal prep. We recommend having two different container tops with different colors. One for lunch, dinner, or whatever makes the most sense to you. That way, you know what to grab for which meal as you run out the door.
