One of the reasons that pizza is so popular isn’t just because it’s delicious. It’s also because it’s so practical and easy to make at home. As long as you have the required ingredients—which is pretty likely—you’re good to go. That being said, there are ways to optimize your homemade pizza, and here are some tips that’ll go a long way.

Trader Joe’s Dough

We don’t work for Trader Joe’s, and they’re not sponsoring this article. We just passionately believe that everyone should try making a pizza using their store-bought dough because it’s delicious and easy to implement.

Cheese Assortments

We encourage you to not just rely on the classic mozzarella cheese, although you really can’t go wrong with it. By all means, get mozzarella, but don’t be afraid to experiment with other varieties such as Gouda, Pepper Jack, Cheddar, and even Ricotta. And be generous when it comes to quantity!

Toppings Moderation

This is probably the most important lesson of all. Although we recommended to be generous with the cheese, do exactly the opposite with the toppings. Too many toppings (and too much variety) can actually take away from the taste of the dough, sauce, and cheese—and that’s the last thing you want.
