How to Make The Creamiest Hot Chocolate Around

There’s nothing like a warm hot chocolate to make you feel cozy on a cold winter’s night. But let’s be real: some hot cocoas are better than others. We’re not saying that Nestle’s hot chocolate powder packets aren’t any good. On the contrary, they’re quite effective and delicious. But if you’re looking for hot cocoa with a much richer kick, then here’s how to do it.

Heat Up the Milk

Pour some milk into a pot and heat it up on the stove. The amount of milk you put should be dependent on how much hot cocoa you want.

Add Dark Chocolate

The way that you’ll get your hot chocolate to be thicker and richer is by using actual chocolate. Be sure to use dark chocolate, because you’ll be mixing it up with milk anyway.

Mix the chocolate in with the hot milk, and then keep mixing. It may take a long while for the dark chocolate to melt, but patience is your friend in this scenario. If you feel like it, you can add some cocoa powder as well, but it’s not required.

Serve It Up

When the chocolate and milk mixture reaches a smooth, thick consistency, that’s when you’re done! Throw in some marshmallows and enjoy!
