Cold Brew Coffee Ratio

The ratio for cold brew coffee is flexible and if you’re making cold brew concentrate, you can dilute it to taste when it’s finished. The general ratio is one cup of water to 28 grams of coarsely ground coffee or 1/4 cup whole beans. You’ll then dilute it with an equal amount of water.

Recommend Steeping Time

Your concentrate will have to steep overnight for at least 12 hours and up to 24 hours. The longer it steeps the better.

Straining Your Cold Brew

When you’re done steeping the coffee, strain the coffee grounds out of the water with a cheesecloth, thin paper coffee filters, or a vintage handkerchief. To strain, place the coffee filter into a small fine-mesh sieve or your cloth over the sieve. Place it over a pitcher or measuring cup and pour the concentrate through it.
