Pasta is amazingly tasty food, but we can all also agree that it isn’t exactly the healthiest option out there. Especially if you are on a diet, pasta is notoriously high in carbs. This is why you’ll probably be happy to hear that there is a way to make low-carb pasta by using just two ingredients. Let’s check it out.

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 egg yolk

1. Take a bowl or some other microwave-safe container and get your mozzarella in. Microwave until melted. This should only take a minute.

2. Using a spatula, whisk the melted mozzarella a few times and add the egg yolk. Continue mixing until you get a pasta dough consistency.

3. Take the dough and place it between two sheets of parchment paper. Roll it using a rolling pin until it’s nice and thin.

4. Remove the top parchment paper sheet and cut the pasta dough into stripes.

5. Transfer the stripes, while keeping them on parchment paper, to a baking sheet. Pop into the fridge and refrigerate for at least eight hours. The best option is to leave it in overnight.

6. After your homemade pasta is chilled, you can now cook it. Just add the pasta strands into a pot of boiling water and cook for one minute. If you leave it longer in the water, it will probably turn into melted cheese.

7. Now that your pasta is cooked, drain it and then run it under cold water, so it doesn’t stick together.

8. Serve on a plate with your favorite condiment and dig in.
