Craving fresh, homemade juice but don’t have a juicer? No problem! You can still enjoy delicious, nutrient-packed juices using common kitchen tools. Here’s how you can make delicious fresh juice using tools you already have.
Blender Method
For this method, start by washing and chopping your fruits or vegetables into small pieces. Place them in a blender with a splash of water. Blend until smooth, then strain the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer or cheesecloth. Press down with a spoon to extract as much juice as possible.
Food Processor Technique
Similar to the blender method, chop your produce and process it in a food processor until finely minced. Transfer the pulp to a cheesecloth, gather the edges, and squeeze out the juice over a bowl for a pulp-free juice.
Manual Pressing
For citrus fruits, use a simple hand juicer or reamer. It’s a bit more work, but the fresh juice is worth it! For other fruits and vegetables, grate them using a box grater, then wrap the pulp in cheesecloth and squeeze out the juice by hand.
Freezing and Thawing
This is a fun trick! Freeze soft fruits like berries, then let them thaw in a strainer over a bowl. As they defrost, they’ll release their juices naturally saving you all the hard work of juicing.
