Coriander naan is a delightful variation of the traditional Indian flatbread, infused with the fresh, citrusy flavor of coriander leaves. This easy-to-follow recipe allows you to recreate the fragrant aroma and soft texture of naan right in your own kitchen. Perfect for accompanying your favorite curries or enjoyed on its own as a tasty snack, these homemade coriander naans are sure to impress your family and friends.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander leaves
  • 2 tablespoons plain yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3/4 cup of warm water
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (for brushing)

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, instant yeast, sugar, salt, and chopped coriander leaves. Add the plain yogurt, olive oil, and warm water to the dry ingredients. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  2. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5-7 minutes, until it becomes smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rest in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until it doubles in size.
  3. Once the dough has risen, divide it into 6 equal portions and shape each portion into a ball. Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Roll out each dough ball into a thin oval or round shape.
  4. Cook the naans on the preheated skillet for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and puffed up. Brush the cooked naans with melted butter before serving.
  5. Enjoy your homemade coriander naans warm, alongside your favorite Indian dishes, or as a delicious snack on their own.
