How to Make Chocolate Spiderwebs

Chocolate spiders and their webs are a great addition to any cakes or cookies over the Halloween season and beyond. Not only does the pattern look enticing and the overall effect exciting, but it’s easy to make and it tastes great. Here’s how you make chocolate spider webs in four simple steps.

Step 1: Melt Chocolate

The first step is to melt some chocolate bars on the stove on a gentle heat. This could be dark or milk chocolate, depending on your tastes.

Step 2: Pipe Chocolate onto Waxed Paper

Pour the melted chocolate into a piping bag until it’s half full. Once half full, pipe the chocolate onto waxed paper in the shape of a spider’s web. If you make any mistakes, you can wipe off the chocolate and pipe again until you are satisfied. But try to keep some melted chocolate for the spider’s legs.

Step 3: Apply to Cake

Wait until the chocolate webs have cooled and the chocolate is hard. Then carefully transfer the webs from the waxed paper onto the cake or cookie that you want to decorate.

Step 4: Make Spiders

When the webs have been applied to the cake or cookie, you can start work on the spider. Take black Sixlets candies to function as the spider bodies. Then pipe eight legs protruding from the Sixlets, and voila! You have chocolate spiders brooding in their webs.
