Broccoli has an undeserved bad reputation. It’s pretty much the first vegetable people (especially kids) will think of when they’re asked to name a yucky veggie. But in reality, broccoli can be incredibly versatile and delicious if prepared correctly. Seriously, there’s a way you can make broccoli that will make even your kids beg for a second helping. Plus, it’s really simple. Check it out.

Ingredients

  • Broccoli
  • Oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Optional red chili flakes
  • Minced garlic

Instructions

  • Cut up the broccoli into very small florets. The smaller the better, as it will help them get crispy and make them easier to eat.
  • Heat up oil over medium/high heat.
  • Add broccoli and cook until just tender, stirring often to prevent it from burning.
  • Once the broccoli is soft, add the minced garlic, stirring it to coat the broccoli.
  • Keep cooking until the broccoli is crispy yet fork-tender. Continue to stir often so it doesn’t burn, just gets crispy edges.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste. For an extra kick of flavor, add red chili flakes. (Though you might want to avoid them if you’re serving children.)

It’s that simple! And trust us, it really is delicious. If you want to speed up the cooking process, you can boil or steam the broccoli first before pan-frying it.
