How Healthy (Or Unhealthy) is Red Meat?

Vegans and vegetarians aside, red meat is one of the most popular cornerstones of culinary tradition in history. People have been eating red meat for centuries, and despite much of the world going vegan, it doesn’t seem like it’s going to stop any time soon. However, while delicious steaks and mouth-watering burgers are a major part of many people’s diets, there are some who say that red meat isn’t good for your health. But is this true?

It Can Be Risky

There are many health experts who claim that red meat can actually be very detrimental to one’s health and this is based on many research studies. Apparently eating red meat constantly can raise one’s risk of type 2 diabetes, stroke, various cancers, and even coronary heart disease.

Moderation is Good

If this sounds unsettling to you, we don’t blame you. Considering how often we eat meat, it’s never fun hearing about all the different ways it can lead to your demise. But honestly, there’s nothing wrong with eating red meat in moderation. As long as you don’t eat it every day, and keep it to a relative minimum, your body should be able to handle it just fine, and the risk for any future issues will go down.
