Hot Cocktails to Keep You Warm All Winter Long

With the holidays behind us, the reality of winter has officially set in. Cold weather is a lot less fun on this side of New Year’s, and we can’t deny that we’re already counting down the days until spring. That said, we do find that incorporating some cozy little rituals into our daily routine helps the time pass more quickly. One of our favorite ways to stay warm is with a hot beverage, and once in a while, those beverages include booze. Here are a few we’ll be enjoying by the fire for the foreseeable future.

Chili Cinnamon Hot Toddy

A traditional hot toddy is made with whiskey, honey, lemon, and cinnamon, but in this recipe, Minimalist Baker spices things up with a maple simple syrup infused with chili pepper. The finished product is a tart, yet sweet beverage that goes perfectly with an evening by the fire.

Hot Boozy Butterbeer

The Butterbeer at Universal Studios may be non-alcoholic, but that doesn’t mean yours has to be. This cocktail by Feast and West contains aged and blackstrap rum sweetened with a mixture of brown sugar and spice butter. Could there be a more magical combination?

Red Wine Hot Chocolate

Alexa, play “My Favorite Things” from The Sound of Music. As if The Desserted Girl didn’t already have us at “hot chocolate,” when we discovered her recipe combined it with red wine, we couldn’t resist trying it for ourselves. This beverage is rich, indulgent, and warms you up from the inside out.
