Here’s Why You Should Buy Frozen Instead of Fresh Fish

Time and time again we’re led to believe that fresh fish is the way to go, but in actuality, this isn’t the case. We’re made to think that the freshest fish is the one in the fish display at the grocery store, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Frozen fish is actually fresher and here’s why you should start buying frozen fish.

Have More Control

When you buy fresh fish at the supermarket, most of the fish displayed behind the counter was frozen and then defrosted at the store. Wow, who could’ve known that?

Unfortunately, there’s actually no way to tell when it was defrosted. But when you buy fish that’s sold frozen, it’s been frozen after it’s been caught and cleaned, allowing you to decide when and how to defrost it right before you cook it. This ultimately gives you more control over the freshness of the fish and will result in a fresher flavor and texture.

Cleaner and Healthier

If you’re “afraid” of cooking fish, but love eating it, make sure you buy quality frozen fish that’s been pre-cleaned and trimmed and equally portioned so you don’t have to deal with cutting or deboning it.

So, are you convinced that fresh fish isn’t always the freshest? Are you going to buy frozen fish from now on?
