Here’s When You Should Use Your Microwave

Microwaves have always gotten a bad rap. When they were first invented in 1945, it took a while for people to warm up to them (no pun intended). People claimed that standing too close to the microwave while it was working could be bad for your health (this is why your grandmother always tells you not to stand too close to the microwave, by the way). But even in modern society, where every home has a microwave, people still don’t respect it because they believe it’s a cheap way of cooking food. However, here are some scenarios where it’s actually better to use a microwave.

Lack of Time

Simply put, sometimes you’re just in a rush and have no time to sit around and wait for something to cook in a toaster oven. A microwave allows you to keep it quick and make haste.

Quick Defrost

If you’re trying to defrost something quickly, a microwave is perfect for this need. Once your food item is defrosted properly, you can then cook whatever it is more effective in a pan, oven, or whatever else you were going to use.

Oatmeal

We’ll just come out and declare that the microwave is the best tool to use when heating up oatmeal. Our reasoning for this is that it makes the oatmeal fluffier, hotter for longer, and dare we say even creamier. See for yourself!
