Here’s What You’re Doing Wrong If Your Cake Pops Don’t Stick

Cake pops are one of the most Instagram-friendly desserts on the market, but making them is easier said than done. One of the biggest challenges you’ll face is ice pops that are constantly falling off their sticks, but this nightmare can be avoided if you stop making these mistakes.

Big Pops

The bigger your pops are, the more difficult it will be for them to stay on the sticks. It’s always better if your pops are too small than if they’re too big, but you should generally aim to make them 1.25 inches wide.

No Stirring

There’s no need to stir your cake pops so they would be properly coated. Just gently tilt them in both directions because gentle movements won’t put too much pressure on your sticks.

Dipping the Stick

It’s a good idea to dip the top of your sticks into the candy coating before inserting them into your cake balls. It may seem like a crazy idea at first, but candy coating actually acts as glue and it will help the ice pops stick better.

Excess Coating

The process of removing the excess coating can also lead to a disaster. Make sure you’re gentle with this step because rash and sudden movements won’t do your cake pops any good.
