People either love or hate fish. There’s no denying that fish is super healthy as it contains tons of protein and vitamins, but if you fall in the latter category, there are ways to makes fish taste less fishy. Here are some ways to make fish taste less fishy, so you can reap all of the benefits from the sea creature.

Soak it in Lemon

Lemon and fish pair effortlessly together, which explains why restaurants often serve fish with a slice of lemon. The acid from lemon juice gets rid of the trimethylamine (TMA), which gives fish the odor. Prepare a lemon-based marinade or serve the fish with a slice of lemon.

Add Crunch

Change the texture and fishy odor of fish by adding a crust to it. Parmesan cheese and bread crumbs or toasted nuts and seasoning make for great crusts that give fish a nice crunch.

Make Salmon Bacon

Make “bacon” with smoked salmon by baking it in the oven. You can add it to casseroles, salads, and eggs.

Add Spices

Spices can help mask the fishy taste of fish. Make your own rubs by combining tons of spices like oregano, paprika, garlic, salt, and black pepper into fish or adding them while the fish is cooking.
