The standard rule for frozen shrimp is to thaw them before cooking. But you don’t actually have to do this if you are in a hurry. Frozen shrimp can be cooked to perfection even if you skip this step.

How to Cook Frozen Shrimp

TikTok user @carolbeecooks, who specializes in “easy & delicious recipes,” shared a video in which she demonstrated how to cook frozen shrimp in an air fryer without thawing them. She starts by marinating the shrimp in avocado oil, salt, garlic powder, cayenne, and smoked paprika while adding some lime juice for an extra kick.

After tossing the shrimp to get them evenly coated, she pops them in an air fryer at 400F for eight minutes and gets the perfect result. The Tiktoker served her shrimp on rice with a few drops of hot sauce, but you can get creative and serve it any way you like.

Bonus Tip for Cooking Frozen Shrimp

To get the best results, you should rinse the frozen shrimp under cold water. This will help remove the ice crystals and get them ready for frying. Just make sure to remove excess water and pat them dry afterward if you want them to be crispy.
