A tuna sandwich is one of the best and easiest meals to make when you are in a hurry but still want to have a proper bite. All you need is one canned tuna and some ingredients you probably already have in your pantry. It can be delicious even if you just put tuna between two slices of bread, but following few extra steps will make it even pleasurable. So, let’s check out how you make a great tuna sandwich.

Ingredients

  • 1 can tuna (6.5oz)
  • 1 tablespoons mayonaisse
  • 1/4 cup onions
  • 1 medium pickle
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 slices wheat bread
  • salt, pepper

Instructions

1. First thing you need to do is prepare your ingredients. Finely chop the onions and a pickle on chunks.

2. Our suggestion is to use tuna in olive oil, but any other will do. In case it’s tuna in water, you will need to drain it. This step can be done by using a paper towel, colander, or making a small opening on the can and pouring the water before opening it all the way.

3. Mix the tuna, mayonnaise, lemon juice, and chopped onions, and pickle in a bowl. Add a pinch of salt and a bit of pepper. Give it a strong whisk with a fork until all the ingredients are blended nicely. Don’t overdo it, as you might end up with a tuna paste. That’s still good but not great.

4. Next step can go in two ways. One is to assemble the sandwich by taking the crust off the bread and enjoy the soft and juicy option. Another is to grill or toast the bread and then assemble the sandwich if you want some crunch.
