Golden Milk

The world is divided into two people—those who practically fall asleep before their head hits the pillow; and those who can spend up to an hour begging for sleep to overtake them. If you fall into the latter category, this golden milk may help you catch some Z’s.

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups coconut milk
  • 1 ½ cups almond milk
  • 1 ½ teaspoon ground turmeric
  • ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup / honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions:

  1. Add the coconut milk, almond milk, turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, black pepper, vanilla, and honey or maple syrup to a small saucepan.
  2. Whisk to combine and warm over medium heat. Heat until hot to the touch but not boiling (about 4 minutes), whisking frequently.
  3. Turn off the heat and taste to adjust the flavor to your taste. For extra intensity, add more turmeric or ginger.
  4. Serve immediately, with some cinnamon on top if you’d like. Leftovers can be stored, covered, in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.
