Let’s admit it – we all make cooking mistakes. Yes. Even people with a lot of cooking experience, who have mastered complex techniques make mistakes. The first thing to understand is that most of the mistakes we make in the kitchen were actually making things harder than they need to be. Read on below if you want to know how to fix some common cooking mistakes.
Lumpy Sauce
Sauces and gravies usually have flour, and if the flour isn’t sifted, the sauce can become lumpy. If you have clumpy sauce, pour into a blender and blend for a few seconds to smoothen it.
Stale Rolls
Wet your fingers then flick water on them. Put in the microwave for at least five seconds. Alternatively, wrap in foil and allow to heat inside the oven for ten minutes at 250 degrees.
Burnt Toast
When your toast is burnt, you can scrape it until the tar is gone with a butter knife. Do this directly into the garbage because it can cause a mess. If your toast is too hard after the burnt parts are removed, brush it with olive oil.
Mushy Pasta
If your pasta comes out mushy, put it in ice water for a few minutes to hold the starch and stop the cooking process. Then reheat it in tomato sauce. Alternatively, use the mushy pasta in the chicken soup.
