Tea Bags

If the tea bag is made from biodegradable materials you can easily compost it in your bin. You can also use teas bags as a fertilizer simply by digging them in around plants.

Wine Corks

Although it’s not a food, it’s technically connected to a drink, so we’ll allow it! If they’re actually made of cork and not plastic, wine corks are a great addition to your compost, so don’t throw them away.

Coffee Grounds

We all thrown away coffee grounds on a daily basis despite the fact that it can easily be composted or used as a fertilizer.

Egg Shells

Even though they are an animal byproduct, eggs shells can also be added to compost. Moreover, egg shells are high in calcium and potassium, which means they’re a great fertilizer that you can just crush and sprinkle around your plants.
