Easy Ways to Slice, Prepare, and Store Avocados

Avocados are difficult to predict. They may take a long time to ripen and they rot even faster. Unripe avocados should not be stored in the fridge because they need room temperature to ripen.

How to Store Avocados

To store your ripe avocado, follow these steps: first, cut the avocado in half around the seed. Twist and separate into halves. You can remove the seed by folding a kitchen towel and using it to hold the avocado half with the seed. Use a chef knife to tap the seed and twist. You can also use a spoon if this doesn’t work.

Slicing or Scooping?

You can choose to scoop with a spoon or slice with a knife if you prefer slices. Slice the other way if you want cubes and use a spoon to scoop the pieces.

You need to store the avocado and prevent oxygen from reaching it because this can make the flesh turn brown. Prevent this by using some acid such as lime juice or lemon juice over the sliced areas of the avocado; you just need a little spray.

After this, wrap it tightly with plastic wrap and store in the refrigerator. It should remain green for at least one day or two. You can also leave the seed in alternatively. Then wrap it with plastic wrap.
