If you thought the only two ways to make popcorn at home are in a pre-bought microwave bag or on the stovetop, you’ll be surprised to learn there’s another option. Once you try out this life hack, you’ll never go back.
Instructions:
- 1/4 cup popcorn kernels
- Paper bag
- Optional toppings: Butter, salt, nutritional yeast, cinnamon, or any preferred seasoning.
Instructions:
- Pour 1/4 cup of popcorn kernels into a standard-sized paper bag. Fold the top of the bag tightly to secure it.
- Lay the bag flat in the microwave. Make sure the folded end is facing downward to prevent the kernels from escaping.
- Set the microwave to high and cook for about 2-3 minutes. The popping will slow down when most of the kernels are popped. Listen closely for this signal and stop the microwave when there’s a gap between pops of around 2 seconds to avoid burning the popcorn.
- Once popped, carefully open the bag and add your preferred toppings or seasonings. Shake the bag gently to coat the popcorn evenly.
- Pour the popcorn into a bowl and enjoy! Experiment with different toppings like melted butter, grated cheese, garlic powder, or even a touch of truffle oil for unique flavors.
