Chia pudding is a very trendy snack right now thanks to its high protein and fiber content, and the ease with which it can be made vegan. It’s also deceptively easy to make and delicious with a chewy texture. Here are some great ways to give your chia pudding a little extra flavor and texture.

Make a Smoothie

The way to make chia pudding is generally to simply mix up chia seeds with milk and sweetener and leave it overnight. Since all you really need is liquid and chia seeds, you can make a thin smoothie with milk or plant milk and juice, fruit, or whatever else you like to use as a base for your pudding. Don’t let the smoothie get too thick, though.

Toppings

The other way to spice up a chia pudding is to give it toppings. Generally you can top chia pudding similarly to how you might a smoothie bowl: granola, fruit, nut butter, honey or syrup, etc. Chia pudding is particularly yummy with fruit that’s been stewed a bit or turned into syrup, compote, or jam. The liquidy component mixes well with the pudding base to create a combination topping/mix-in/flavoring which is just delicious.
