Don’t Throw Away Your Over Ripe Bananas, Make Banana Ice Cream Instead

Banana

Don’t toss your overripe bananas away just yet! There’s a delicious treat you can make with them that will not only save your bananas but also satisfy your sweet tooth. Instead of making the usual banana bread, why not switch things up and make banana ice cream? Yes, you read that right – ice cream made from just bananas. It’s a guilt-free, healthy alternative to traditional ice cream and perfect for those who are trying to eat clean.

Ingredients:

  • 3 overripe bananas, peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup of almond milk (or any other non-dairy milk)
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • Optional toppings: chopped nuts, chocolate chips, fruit, or honey

Instructions:

  1. Freeze the sliced bananas for at least 2 hours, or until they are completely frozen.
  2. Once the bananas are frozen, add them to a blender or food processor.
  3. Add the almond milk and vanilla extract to the blender or food processor.
  4. Blend the mixture until it is smooth and creamy. You may need to stop and scrape down the sides of the blender or food processor a few times.
  5. Once the mixture is smooth, transfer it to a freezer-safe container and freeze for at least 1 hour.
  6. Scoop the banana ice cream into bowls and add your desired toppings. Enjoy!
