You may have heard it being said in various kitchens, or at a dining room table. A salad gets taken out, and instead of someone saying how tasty or healthy it looks, you hear someone say, “I like how many different colors you incorporated into that salad.” Now, you can choose to look at this in a comical way, but is there a benefit to having multiple colors in your salad aside from it just looking pretty?

Different Kinds of Nature

In short, the answer is yes. There is something to be said about having multiple colors in your salad and not just for presentation. Different colors portray different variations of nature, and therefore a multi-colored salad will give you a handful of healthy properties. If you only had leafy greens in your salad, it might seem a bit bland, right?

Not Essential

That being said, it’s definitely not essential to have a million different colors in your salad. You’ll still get a very healthy salad if you just focus on greens. But then again, if you are concerned with the way it looks, and you want it to have that “wow factor”, then adding a bunch of different colors will certainly achieve that.
