Dale Gray Loves Sharing Her Passion for Food With the World

Dale Gray spent the formative years of her life training to become a social worker, but faith took her in a completely different direction. She made a name for herself as a food blogger, and she’s now committed to sharing her passion for food with the world under the moniker The Daley Plate.

Gray originally hails from South Africa, where she pursued a degree in social work, only to realize that working in this field would bring her more sorrow than joy. Her life took a shift after she spent six years teaching English in South Korea, where she fell in love with its culinary scene and used cooking as a tool in her teaching.

Her love for foods from different cultures kept growing after she moved to Mississippi with her husband, and started experimenting with food. Here, she was introduced to many Southern dishes and started mixing them up with Korean and South African flavors from her youth.

She eventually decided to share her new recipes with the world and attracted over 200,000 Instagram followers, but she never saw herself as an influencer—just someone who loves sharing her passion for food with the world.

“I do not consider myself a ‘social media influencer’ – Those words make me cringe. I am just a home cook who is passionate about food, about the love shared between people at a table, about how to make a plate of food look beautiful and the stories behind it all,” she writes on her blog.
