Many major brands are riding the AI wave right now, and Coca-Cola is the next one in line! The iconic beverage company dared to wonder what artificial intelligence would taste like and left people pretty puzzled with their brand-new Coca‑Cola Y3000 flavor.

According to Oana Vlad, the senior director of global strategy at the Coca‑Cola Company, this new flavor was co-created with human and artificial intelligence and it was meant to envision the future through emotions, aspirations, colors, and flavors.

“We hope that Coca‑Cola will still be as relevant and refreshing in the year 3000 as it is today, so we challenged ourselves to explore the concept of what a Coke from the future might taste like—and what kind of experiences would a Coke from the future unlock?” said Vlad in a statement.

Coca‑Cola Y3000 is the latest in the series of the company’s abstract flavors, and they simply said it’s “futuristic flavored”, leaving it to those who drink it to determine what it tastes like. The response has been pretty polarizing so far, and Y3000 is shaping up to be one of Coca-Cola’s most divisive new drops, with Mary Sue calling it “predictably bad” and Insider saying it tastes like “when you mix all the drinks together at a soda fountain.”
