Chili-lime seasoning is just what it sounds like: chili powder and lime zest. These two flavors come together to make the best acidic, spicy, and all around amazing seasoning. Although you can sometimes find it in the grocery store, it is not always available. And when it is, the flavors won’t be fresh and it can get pretty salty. Luckily, making it at home couldn’t be easier, so give it a try!

Spice Blend

First, zest at least one lime. You can use more zest if you want to make a bigger quantity or for it to taste more acidic. Run a knife through the zest a couple of times to make sure the pieces are as small as possible. Then, add chili powder, a bit of salt, stir well and store in an airtight container.

How To Use It

You can use this seasoning on just about anything, and it pairs perfectly especially with Latin style cuisine, but really any vegetable, salad, fruit, salmon, and especially corn. Try making Mexican street corn which simply means covering a corn on the cob with mayo and then sprinkling over chili lime seasoning. It gives it such a great kick of flavor you have to try it!
