While we may not be able to celebrate Mardi Gras in New Orleans this year, we can still raise a glass to Fat Tuesday with these classic New Orleans cocktails. This year, Mardi Gras is happening on February 16 and you can order these delicious cocktails from your hometown bar or make your own at home. Let the good times roll this holiday!

Hurricane

This sweet, refreshing drink is one of New Orleans’ most famous cocktails that feature two types of rum, passion fruit, grenadine, and orange juice. It’s topped with orange slices and maraschino cherries.

Sazerac

The official cocktail of New Orleans, invented in the city in the 19th century, contains anise-flavored liqueur, rye whiskey, bitters, and simple syrup, topped with a lemon peel.

Bourbon Hot Toddy

A Bourbon Hot Toddy is perfect for when you’re feeling a bit sick or on a cold day. This cocktail comes together with bourbon, water, honey, lemon juice, and a cinnamon stick and lemon slice for garnish.

Mint Julep

Mint Juleps are a southern classic that are super refreshing after dancing the night away at Mardi Gras. They come together with crushed ice, water, white sugar, mint leaves, and bourbon.

Daiquiris

When in NOLA, daiquiris can be found everywhere and at some places, you can even order them by the gallon! The most popular flavors are watermelon and strawberry.
